Behind the Gear: Stories of Flux, Sync, Axis, and Swift

Behind-the-Gear-Stories-of-Flux-Sync-Axis-and-Swift Cinomadist

Our journey at Cinomadist grew out of a simple idea – blend “city” life with the spirit of the wandering nomad. From the very beginning our goal was to create versatile, durable gear for urban adventurers. Each product series’ name reflects that spirit and a specific lifestyle need. In this post I’ll share the inspiration behind our four series – Flux, Sync, Axis, and Swift – and explain how each design tackles real problems in everyday life.

Flux Series: Travel-Ready Gear for Modern Explorers

The name Flux suggests flow and change – fitting for travel gear that must adapt to shifting plans. In designing the Flux series, we imagined “one backpack that handles your Monday commute and your Saturday getaway.” That was exactly our goal when we built our expandable travel backpack. Flux bags are meant for longer trips and modern explorers: they expand and organize so you never need a second bag.

In practice, that meant making a pack that goes from about 19 liters to 32 liters in seconds, using heavy-duty zippers. No extra bag is needed when plans change – the bag flows with you. Inside, we include more than 14 pockets in a layered layout so that your laptop, tablet, chargers, documents, water bottle and even an umbrella each have their spot. Rugged polyester and YKK zippers make these backpacks truly durable, and extras like RFID-blocking slots, AirTag pockets and a hidden luggage strap make travel easier.

Practical problems solved: Flux bags replace the old days of juggling a slim work bag one day and a large suitcase the next. You get a professional look by default, but when you need more space, the bag expands instantly. The many pockets mean no more digging for your charger or passport in a jumbled pack; instead each item has a dedicated compartment. In short, Flux gear solves the problem of staying organized on the move, adapting smoothly from daily commute to airport trips without a second thought.

Sync Series: Sleek Bags for Everyday Commute

The name Sync evokes synchronization – we designed these bags to sync perfectly with your daily routine and work life. The Sync series is all about modern commuting and work. Our mission is to provide practical solutions for the everyday challenges of urban living, and Sync bags live that mission. These are the sleek, smart bags you reach for on Monday morning with your laptop and essentials.

For example, our Laptop Backpack Core 25L is built for business, travel, and everyday carry. It’s a versatile commuter pack with a USB charging port – so you can plug in a battery inside and charge devices on the go. It holds up to 15.6″ laptops in a padded sleeve and has about 23 L of total space, organized into multiple compartments. We crafted it to be splash-resistant and comfortable all day: breathable padded straps and a hidden trolley sleeve mean you can carry it on subways or wheels without hassle.

Practical problems solved: In the Sync series I focused on the pain points of commuters. No more digging for a laptop or tangled cables during your workday – Sync backpacks have dedicated padded laptop compartments and tidy pockets for chargers, stationery or even snacks. The minimalist exterior looks professional and resists rain, while inside everything stays organized. In short, Sync bags streamline your daily commute by keeping work essentials protected and within easy reach, so your gear and your schedule stay “in sync.”

Axis Series: Tech Pouches and Organizers for Gadget Lovers

We chose the name Axis because these pouches serve as a central hub for your gear – everything revolves neatly around the main compartments. The Axis series is our line of slim tech pouches and everyday organizers. We set out to bring order to the chaos of cables, chargers and small gadgets. The Axis Tech Pouch is a compact organizer built for the modern commuter, the digital nomad, and anyone who needs a reliable companion on workdays and weekends alike.

From the very first sketch we asked: how can one small pouch handle a tangle of wires and devices anywhere life takes us? The answer was a modular design with loops and pockets so that “everything has its place.” The result: Axis pouches are slim yet structured. The Slim Tech Pouch is roughly the size of a paperback but includes five pockets and elastic bands, so every cable, dongle or SD card has a dedicated spot. The Pro Tech Pouch is larger, opening 180° to reveal multiple zippered compartments and elastic holders, essentially acting like a portable desk organizer.

Practical problems solved: Axis pouches solve the problem of tangled tech. Instead of tossing chargers and adapters loosely into a bag, you slip them into an Axis pouch and immediately find what you need. No more frantic searches for that one USB cable – each goes in its own elastic loop. The slim version is light and fits anywhere, perfect for carrying just the essentials. The Pro version handles heavy loads of gear (power banks, multiple cables, headphones, etc.) and even sits open on your desk. In everyday life, Axis gear means organized tech on the go: your cables, batteries, and small devices stay neat and accessible, whether you’re at the office, on a shoot, or traveling abroad.

Swift Series: High-Performance Gym and Training Bags

The Swift series is named for speed and agility – the mindset of someone who is always on the move. I created the Swift backpack because I personally hated lugging a beat-up gym bag that was a “chaotic black hole” mixing sweaty clothes with my laptop. I wanted a high-performance training pack built for real life, so I sketched a design that could keep up with bouncing between office, gym, and travel.

The Swift’s design philosophy was simple: crush common pains with smart engineering. It has about 18 functional pockets, meaning every item gets its own home. Six quick-access pockets on the front stash my phone, keys and wallet, while dedicated compartments carry my laptop, clothes, shoes, water bottle and more. Notably, Swift includes a ventilated “shoe garage” that isolates sneakers, plus a removable waterproof pouch for wet or sweaty gear. Its semi-rigid water-repellent shell lets the bag stand upright on its own, so the pack never collapses into a mess. Even heavy loads feel lighter thanks to thick padding and ergonomic straps, and a built-in luggage pass-through strap lets me clip Swift onto rolling bags in airports.

Practical problems solved: In everyday use, Swift tackles that nightmare of digging through a jumbled gym bag. Now my shoes, towel, and electronics each live in separate compartments. I can toss gym clothes into the ventilated chamber, wipe my hands, and confidently zip up without soaking everything else in sweat. The rigid build protects my gear from bumps, and even on a bike or on crowded subways the even weight distribution and padding keeps me comfortable. In short, Swift became the engineered training companion I needed: it carries all my workout equipment and work essentials at once, making any day – from workouts to city commutes – run smoothly.
